Check our latest %23volunteer opportunity: Spanish-English Interpreter via%20%40GozAround
Skagit Habitat for Humanity is blessed to be a part of a wonderfully multicultural part of Washington. We often have customers, volunteers, homeowners, and future partner families who speak Spanish as a first or only language come to our organization to shop, donate, volunteer, or partner with us for our affordable housing program. Because of this, we’re always looking for help with written and vocal Spanish-English translation at our main headquarters, both in the Store and the Administrative Office. Volunteers can translate both in-person and remotely by phone to help our team serve Skagit County to our fullest ability. Volunteer Translators would be trained in the basics of our housing program and our Store policies to best assist Spanish-language patrons with what they need, and would always be able to reach a senior volunteer or a staff member to help with any extra questions the translator or Spanish-speaking patron would have. Translators would normally serve at the Store at 1022 Riverside Drive in Mount Vernon, and would also be able to join staff and volunteers at other sites and special events.
Interested? Please contact our Volunteer Coordinator (volunteer@skagithabitat.com, 360.420.3649), our Store Development Coordinator (storedevelopmentcoordinator@skagithabitat.com, 360.708.3108) or the main office (1022 Riverside Drive, Mount Vernon, WA; 360.428.9402) for more information.
